Section 01
Our Commitment to Accessibility
E Mortgage Capital Inc. and Let’s Talk Home Mortgage are committed to providing a website that is accessible to our customers and visitors, including people with disabilities. We continue to review and improve the website with accessibility in mind.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Technology, website content, third-party tools, and accessibility practices change over time, so we expect our work in this area to continue as the website evolves.
Section 02
Accessibility Standards and Guidance
Our accessibility work is informed by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG. These guidelines explain how digital content can be made more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities.
We use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a helpful reference for ongoing improvements where reasonably applicable. This statement does not represent that every page, file, embedded service, or third-party feature has been formally audited or has achieved complete conformance.
Section 03
Measures We Take to Support Accessibility
As we create and update website content, we work to support accessible use through practices such as:
01
Keyboard Access
Supporting navigation and interaction without requiring a mouse whenever the website controls allow it.
02
Visible Focus
Using visible focus indicators so keyboard users can identify the currently selected link or control.
03
Clear Structure
Using meaningful headings, lists, labels, landmarks, and page titles to organize information.
04
Readable Design
Working to maintain readable text, sufficient contrast, responsive layouts, and scalable content.
05
Image Descriptions
Providing alternative text for meaningful images when those images communicate important content.
06
Reduced Motion
Respecting device settings that request reduced animation or motion where our page code supports it.
We also work to use descriptive link text, properly identified form controls, understandable instructions, and error messages that help users complete website forms.
Section 04
Assistive Technology and Browser Compatibility
The website is intended to work with commonly used current browsers, operating systems, screen readers, screen magnification software, speech-recognition tools, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.
Your experience may vary depending on the device, browser version, assistive technology, security settings, extensions, or combination of technologies being used. Keeping your browser and assistive technology updated may improve compatibility and security.
Section 05
Third-Party Content, Forms, and Services
Some portions of the website may rely on services that we do not fully control, including loan-application platforms, calculators, embedded forms, videos, maps, scheduling tools, social-media content, security services, document viewers, and links to external websites.
We encourage third-party providers to support accessible experiences, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of every third-party platform or external website. When a third-party feature creates a barrier, please contact us so we can help identify another way to access the information or complete the requested task.
Section 06
Known or Potential Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet provide an ideal accessible experience. Potential limitations may include older articles, legacy page templates, third-party widgets, documents supplied by outside parties, PDF files, video content that lacks captions or transcripts, or tools that are updated by external vendors.
We do not use this statement to excuse accessibility barriers. When an issue is identified, we will evaluate it and make a reasonable effort to correct the issue, improve the experience, or provide an accessible alternative.
Section 07
Requesting Assistance or an Alternate Format
If you have difficulty accessing a page, form, document, calculator, article, or other website feature, please contact us. In the event that a page or item cannot be made accessible promptly, we will work with you to make the information available in an alternate format or through another reasonable method.
Depending on the request, alternatives may include a plain-text version, an accessible electronic document, assistance completing a form, an explanation by email, or another format that provides access to the same information or service.
Requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. The time needed to respond may depend on the content, format, third-party provider, and complexity of the requested accommodation.
Section 08
How to Report an Accessibility Issue
If you find an inaccessible area of the website or have feedback about accessibility, email pcollins@emortgagecapital.com.
To help us investigate and respond, please include as much of the following information as you can:
- The web address or name of the page where the problem occurred.
- A brief description of the content, form, control, or task that was difficult to access.
- The browser, device, and assistive technology you were using, when relevant.
- The format or type of assistance that would be most useful to you.
- Your preferred method of contact.
Please do not include Social Security numbers, bank account information, passwords, complete loan documents, or other sensitive financial information in an ordinary email.
Section 09
Ongoing Accessibility Improvements
We may use a combination of internal review, automated testing, manual testing, user feedback, vendor support, and code updates to identify and address accessibility issues.
Because automated tools cannot identify every accessibility barrier, feedback from people who use assistive technology is especially valuable. We welcome constructive comments that help us improve the usability of the website.
Section 10
Changes to This Accessibility Statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement to reflect changes to the website, our accessibility practices, available technology, third-party services, or applicable guidance. The “Last updated” date near the top of the page identifies the most recent revision.
